Internships training program is often done by college students towards in the end of the semester. It is very useful for them to get the new experiences outside the campus, to improve their skills and also to introduce them about the new world of work. One of the good places that is very recommended for the college student doing internship training is museum. For some people it looks so strange because there are many college students choose or have chosen to do their internship in the office of government or private companies, but actually they should know that museum would be very useful for their life. There are many things they will get during the internship that could not be imagined for those who haven’t tried it. To make it more interesting, I will explain several good effects of doing internship training program at the museum.
The first is getting many knowledge about Indonesian culture. Museum gives you many information about your own country, Indonesia. In this modern era, many people do not care about Indonesian culture that is actually very important for themselves as a cultural heritage. That’s why I suggest you to choose museum, because it will make you know more about Indonesian culture especially to know your own culture or your parent’s culture. It will help you to realize that actually you have a very good and nice culture which is not owned by the other country. Indonesia has so many tribes with their own culture that you could not see directly, so museum can help you as a connection to introduce you about it. Besides that, you will also know the replica objects of cultural heritage like traditional house, traditional music instrument, traditional housewares and many other things complete with its history that you haven’t ever known it before.
The second is becoming a person who loves about culture. By knowing and realizing about the importance of your culture from the museum, it will make you always keep it in your mind. Then you’ll be proud about it, because you are Indonesian people, and here’s your obligation to know and learn about your own culture. It shows that you are the real Indonesian, and become a person who loves culture. That would make you be more curious about culture and try to find out it deeper from the other sources or reading historical book to get the information more. It also makes you interested to visit some areas in Indonesia, whose culture is still strong, and then you can see it directly and it would be more satisfying. In addition, based on many sources, a person who loves their culture will look more attractive and far from stress feeling.
The third is promoting Indonesian culture direct and indirectly. During or after the internship training, when you are also becoming a person who loves and proud of your culture, you will get the desire to influence people to visit the museum and make them interested of Indonesia. It could be said that you are promoting the museum and Indonesian culture itself as directly. But, sometimes you won’t realize that you also promote it when you wear something that shows your own culture like using batik clothes, or a shirt that have the images of wayang and using your local language. Your love to your own culture will make you used to doing and using things that are related to your culture, even you realize it or not.
So, by doing internship training at the museum that makes you have to know the content of the museum, you will get some good effects for your life. It is not only about you will get many knowledge about Indonesia, but also open your eyes to love its culture, then it will make you want to share or make people know that you are proud about it so much. Culture will be a part of your life as a heritage that must be maintained.
